The coffee and croissant were excellent, and the barista was friendly and welcoming. The interior is clean and has a modern design. Outside, the building has a charming East Coast style covered in ivy. The patio is lovely — a true hidden gem nestled between small offices and a school. The only drawback is that parking can be quite challenging.
Freelance Coffee Project is one of those places where the roaster is the reason to come. This is a true coffee-purist spot in Newport Beach, built entirely around single-origin coffee. They don’t blend, and their current lineup moves through coffees from places like Costa Rica, Kenya, Mexico and Brazil, each with its own process and flavor profile.
