My mother fell and dislocated her shoulder. The hospital sent her to freedom pointe rehab and the doctor's refused to give her the pain meds prescribed for her. She was suffering very badly. I had to get her transferred to Pam's rehab in Tavares due to the doctor's and the staff. I really thank the social worker for getting my mother transferred ASAP. I have watched the team at Freedom Pointe Rehab & Healthcare Center take my father from not wanting to get out of bed (after surgery to repair a broken femur) to actively looking forward to his therapy sessions. The administrative team could not have been more pleasant and efficient in getting him in. The paperwork was minimal, simplified, understandable. They are warm, caring people. A family member went to rehab there for 3 months. When it came time for her to be discharged home at the end of her 100 days, there was NO communication with her son, who lives out of the area but had been part of some care plan meetings, even though the family member’s husband has possible cognitive issues. As a healthcare worker, I am VERY unimpressed with the coordination of care.
