My elderly father was placed at Freedom after a short stay in the hospital. He was there for 17 days going thru rehab to stand again after becoming so weak. First it was in a shared room with a gentleman that was deaf and blared the TV all night. After 13 days he got his own room, he was so tired from no sleep. The 1 jamaican nurse was very rude to him and my father (86 and frail said she hurt him) My father never complains. I would call at 2pm and he'd still be in bed. No walking rehab. My mother fell and dislocated her shoulder. The hospital sent her to freedom pointe rehab and the doctor's refused to give her the pain meds prescribed for her. She was suffering very badly. I had to get her transferred to Pam's rehab in Tavares due to the doctor's and the staff. I really thank the social worker for getting my mother transferred ASAP. My mother got to Pam's rehab in Tavares and she immediately got her pain meds. Freedom pointe rehab is inhumane to seniors that are in severe pain. I wouldn't put a rat in ther... read more
I have watched the team at Freedom Pointe Rehab & Healthcare Center take my father from not wanting to get out of bed (after surgery to repair a broken femur) to actively looking forward to his therapy sessions. The administrative team could not have been more pleasant and efficient in getting him in. The paperwork was minimal, simplified, understandable. They are warm, caring people.
