This is a beautiful facility, with quality equipment but it’s sad to see the environment run down by members disrespecting the space leaving it unkept with equipment everywhere, and seeing and hearing members disrespecting staff with the use of highly offensive and racially charged language. Definitely not a safe or welcoming environment for women or women of colour and this really needs to change. Freebird, please do better.

This gym needs to do a better job protecting its protecting its members for racial and verbal abuse. An incident occurred where a man was lifting a fair amount of weight and decided it was okay to leave the bar with the weight on it. This is naturally inconsiderate in any gym establishment. He was asked by a young lady to return the equipment, at which point he verbally assaulted her through racial slurs. The incident was caught on camera and has yet to be corrected. I've been to this gym multiple times as a powerlifter and while it has a great amount of equipment, members constantly don't re-rack their weights or put the equipment away properly. I saw someone today leave out their bar and plates when they were politely called out on it, they lashed out with racial slurs and abuse to the staff. This isn't the first time that I've seen something like this happen at Free Bird and makes me concerned for my safety, if I were to go back there again.

Be aware, some members have the habit of not putting the plates and weights back. They even get violent and use agressive/racists language when they are get called out for this by the gym staff. Members are representative of the gym. The owners should make sure their members reflect the values they promote and that anyone feels safe to be in the gym.

The members and environment at this gym is unsafe. I witnessed a man use equipment, proceed to not clean up after himself, and when kindly asked to put his stuff away… he threw a fit like a toddler and used racially harmful language to a woman of colour and proceeded to fight back as if he did no wrong.. This gym is dangerous for anyone who is a poc or a woman. The blatant disrespect and lack of support for staff shows what kind of environment they foster and people they want coming to their gym.
