We did the 4-hour blacksmithing experience with Josh at Fraser River Forge, and it was fantastic. Josh struck the perfect balance between demonstrating techniques, teaching us the fundamentals, helping us when we needed it, and letting us work independently once we got the hang of things. Great experience working with Josh on a custom forged knife with my fiance for our upcoming wedding as the cake cutting knife (along with the symbolism of forging something together with the one I love). Both Josh and Steve helped us understand how we might be able to achieve our custom forged goal (balancing between time it takes, cost, and design aspects). Visited the Forge today with zero experience before this. Eric was an incredible teacher taking the time to be patient with me and showing the techniques along with teaching some history of these techniques and tools. His passion and knowledge is second to none along with his skill, would recommend the class to anyone looking for some fun and entertaining to learn. 10/10, thank you Eric

Fraser River Forge is an excellent opportunity to learn an old-school trade. It takes an incredible amount of skill and nuance to master, but as a total greenhorn, Josh was able to impart wisdom, information, and skills in equal measure during my lessons to me. I am honored that I am the only student who has custom hand-forged wolf-jaw tongs made for me by Josh by way of some horse trading. They are awesome!
