Maya was our guide and she is lovely and spontaneous, making our trip absolutely exciting and hyped. The weather was spot on, glaciers were blue and shiny, and the Heliride was cool! Everyone wanted to have a photo with Maya at the end…will recommend anyone to have a trip to glaciers with Maya and Franz Josef Glacier Guides and 100% will have a good time. Was secretly hoping that the weather was bad so we get to be “stuck” up there through the night and see the stunning night views and sunset from there
An amazing and unique experience. We did our Glacier Heli hike in August 2025 and it was the most memorable thing we did for our whole New Zealand trip. The weather was perfect on the day and we took so many photos and videos throughout the whole experience. Would recommend to everyone visiting New Zealand.
Did the helihike today and it was an incredible experience. We had Abbey as our guide who was amazing, very informative and we felt very safe with her. She was very knowledgeable and approachable and give us a good insight into the Māori story of the glacier. Everything was organised well and very clear communication from all staff members throughout the experience. Highly recommend the hike it was surreal to hike through the glacier and formations.
