I had a 10:15 am appointment, but for some odd reason, I had it in my head my appointment was at 12:15 pm. Totally my fault, and I admit it. I came to his office & took a seat in the waiting room. Mr. Masur pokes his head around the corner and says quite surprisingly "Can I help you??". I told him my name, and before I could get another word out, he says in a loud voice, "Your appointment was at 10:15!!! It's 12:15!! I was absolutely shocked because I knew he was right and it was totally my fault. I said "I'm so very sorry!!... read more
Dr. Masur is knowledgeable and empathetic. Easy to talk with. Excellent clinical skills. Has experience with a wide variety of patients and diagnoses.
He did not respect my views. He was absent for a lengthy time, and did not provide back up coverage.
Dr. Frank Masur has to be one of the biggest narcissists I have ever met. He spent a great deal of time bragging about himself. His non-verbal communication is condescending and not empathetic. He is more of a businessman, which is not surprising since I knew at some point he ran some executive coaching called Excalibur. Even Ray Sexton knows. I am actually talking about him with my current therapist about him. I wish people could see what goes on behind his doors.
Spent most of visits talking about his experience and telling stories. Condescending and not empathetic to patients. Does not seem to have insight into psychiatric illnesses and the impact on patients or families. Please don't go here
I do not recommend Dr. Masur at all. I had over 6 1 hour sessions with Dr. Masur and he would routinely take that time to talk about his life and what he's been doing....Ok isn't the purpose of me paying you to help me with my problems? I guess not. So as a professional he did not conduct his practice with the aim towards the client / patient. I wasn't helped at all and he insulted me many times. I definitely had a bad experience with this psychologist.
Dr Masur knows psychology but lacks empathy and does not allow the pt. to discuss feelings bc I don't think he knows how to handle them. After he stated that the pt. needs to be seen 1x a week or more and the pt. voiced very depressive mood with possible self harm he told pt that he only sees his clients 1x a month! Even though he was seeing this pt. Weekly!! He raises his voice at the pt when confronted by pt! He also cancels appt without cause!. He curses excessively. Not professional!
