Valet totalled my car I went to st Joseph medical center in Tacoma wa to visit a friend who was in labor and used their valet parking system thinking I could trust them. All the workers there for valet looked extremely young and were not friendly but I tried to not judge that. Well - hour or so later I went back to valet to get my car..stood outside for about 30 MINUTES waiting, while all the workers just gave me weird looks smirking, just to find out by the manager that their valet workers had wrecked my car! Post Op/Recovery rms Horrible Entry Staff ws great. Dr. was awesome. 2 Nurses great. One nurse not so great. Room for recovery/post ops SUCKED!!! They want you to rest and have rooms seperated by Curtains...so all you hear in grunting and growing...nice. Upgrade to some DOORS for peace & quite = REST.
Over the Top I couldn't of been treated better. Everyone was nice, helpful and knowledgeable. If someone I asked didn't have an answer they found someone who did. I was in the hospital for 9 days and I can honestly say it is now my hospital of choice. I have a chronic condition that leads me to a lengthy hospital stay every couple of years, I've been to 3 of the major hospitals in my area and St. Joseph's is by far the best.
St Joseph This hospital is horrible. I know that emergency rooms get very busy, but when patients are waiting for hours something should really be done. I went there and they told me it would be a long wait, I think they said 4 hours. There was an elderly couple in the waiting room next to me, and they said they had been there for 6+ hours. I thought that was horrible. I left and went to another hospital. I wouldn't take my dog here.... I must say this is the worst hospital I have ever entered. My mother was rushed there by paramedics and needed emergency surgery. That was in mid Dec. and she is still there....why you might ask, not because she is that ill but because of the "specialists" who will not speak to one another or even read each others notes in the chart. The fact that she has been "treated for various infections with antibiotics" and then our family told she doesn't have one nor has she ever had one simply amazes ... read more
Not so great hospital I was very UNimpressed with this hospital and their staff. After my surgery, I was out of bed walking around to avoid blood clots, like I was told to do, and when I called the nurse to ask if they would help me out of bed cause I was quite sore, they were like, "why?" They didnt help me anymore than I could help myself, and didnt tell me I could take off the leg pumps so I could get some sleep. It was miserable.
"Nightmare on J Street" For those of you who received prime quality care from this hospital, consider yourselves extremely lucky. For my family this place is regarded as a Nightmare on J street. Several years back we took our elderly mother in for treatment who had pnemonia. Mind you she walked in on her own steam, was only slightly under the textbook oxygen sats on room air. Supurb!! My husband has had 2 surgeries plus other procedures at St Joseph and we had nothing but excellent service from the front door to the operating room and all stops in between. the entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure everything is just right. Couldn't have been treated better anywhere. can't imagine anyone would have a complaint, but then you know how some people gripe about anything!!
Friendly and Caring Staff I have been to a lot of hospitals, and St. Clare certainly ranks among the best in terms of clean, presentable facilities and wonderful, caring staff. The doctors know what they are talking about, the nurses are quick and kind, and the whole experience here is outstanding.
