My Aunt went to this office and the appointment went well enough, but the billing was completely unacceptable. Medicare paid for the entire invoice of $192.10. However, included at the bottom was an additional $92 to be paid in excess of services rendered. When the office was asked about it, the response was that it was to be paid to building’s owner “because he owned the business & my aunt had used the facility.” She never saw that man nor was this charge mentioned previously. This about the Newport facility. For the past 9 years we have been using the Newport facility. The doctors and staff have always been efficient and nice. This last visit was less than fulfilling however. My insurance covers all but a $10 co-pay for single vision lenses. The office argued that I needed to pay $62 because they won't sell me lenses that match the $10 co-pay. I've been seeing Dr. Pinard for about 30 years now. No matter where I lived in the country throughout that time I would always schedule an appointment with him when I was back in the area. He listens to your needs and comes up with the best solution to your changing eyes.

Dr Pinard was incredibly disrespectful to my child. He kept pushing them to talk when it was obvious they weren’t comfortable with him. He questioned them about health issues in a way that was inappropriate and had nothing to do with the exam. And he refused to use their correct pronouns. We will never use this practice again.

Dr. Pinard was incredibly respectful to me, He kept me talking which took my mind off the exam, and the whole experience was quite comfortable for me. He questioned me about health issues in a way that was insightful and dare I say thoughtful. The rest of the staff we’re also most respectful and quite nice especially reception who were the highlight of my time there. I will never use another practice again.
