We needed a family hike and had a cabin near here. Not only was there traffic to get anywhere else to hike, the scam of the National Park requires you to go to the Park Center and purchase a $30 parking pass in order to try and hike somewhere! So we tried the Foxfire trails for a little extra money than the Park itself. The trails were amazing, with a huge bridge, amazing waterfall, and fun hike to get there! Great day out for all ages and abilities. The general pass can be used over 7 days, so you can tailor your hike/chilling in nature to suit your pace. They also have a Cider shop on site (they have a non-alcoholic version but varieties are an apple based alcoholic drink....as an Englishman, think Aspinals only better!) - very refreshing after a hike. Staff are really helpful (Kaitlin?? on front desk in particular) Loved our day here and only wish we'd discovered it sooner!
This was on my bucket list and Nick And Tom, who were our group's guides delivered 100% They were very friendly, guided everyone where they needed it, and made this a great adventure. I highly recommend !!
This place was so much fun for everyone in our group, even my 2-1/2 year old grandson and two terriers. We walked along the river and made our way up to the waterfall. Surprisingly, my grandson had no issues walking everywhere we went, especially up and down the steep, sometimes rugged terrain. He absolutely loved it! We all did!!! The young man who checked us in was helpful and courteous, too.
We had a fun adventure crossing the swinging bridge! As a “mature” couple I wish we would have been better prepared with our walking poles; to truly experience the walking trails to the waterfalls! Next time!
