We recently purchased a house and went in next day to find we needed an oil delivery ASAP with the tank being empty. It was essential we get a tank fill up first thing in order to not have the temp drop in the house so far that the pipes would freeze. We called around to local oil providers and were given the opportunity to pay a "delivery fee" (that they stated would be reimbursed to us in the spring if we continued to order fill-ups from them) and only have oil delivered in the afternoon at an undetermined hour.
