I came 2 Foundation House in February 2013 a broken man. I was 40 years old, and looked well over 50. Alcohol was controlling, and ruining my life. I knew I was “sick” long b4 that, I just refused 2 seek any help 4 it. It wasn’t until my job was on the line, that I sought help through the CFMEU, as I’m a formworker and knew of their program. I got told by the boss their job is semantics. After a year of receiving counselling. I wish they advertised they are in the semantics business and not the mental health business. For any women in construction. Run. They will only consider you better once they make you a trad wife. In a time when women are expected to be tax payers while we navigate a nation 4 times more expensive the Great Depression. I feel very alone. I deeply regret the decision I had made to trust these people and their foundation.
