I've been going to Foundation Crossfit for for over three years. I am not particularly athletic and bumbled into Crossfit at the suggestion of friends. In these 3 years I've completed over 500 classes - I continue to go to the skills classes every week. I found the smart, patient and highly skilled coaches invest in my wellbeing in each class. The community of athletes is friendly, engaging, and welcoming of all skill levels. I am grateful that this gym exists, it's quite literally changed my life.
The Seattle freeze is strong here. The silence between exercises is deafening. People here will do anything except acknowledge your existence. It's brutaly awkward. This is a gym for people who are already in amazing shape. They make you jump though several expensive hoops before you can join the regular program. Kris is awesome! Unfortunately, Kris does not seem to teach often because I have never had a class with them. At my second class, I was completely lost. Started as a full beginner; was never really athletic in my life; Foundation has completely changed that. Every coach is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and they’re the perfect instructors to help you learn how to safely get into weightlifting. Everyone at the gym has also been very welcoming and inclusive - no shame in being the slowest in the class!
