Done! I’m living that ablated nodule life now! I’ve officially joined the RFA club, folks. Dr. Keith Forwith in Louisville, Kentucky is amazing! THEE best of the best. Period. Hands down. This man is a surgeon’s surgeon. My nerves were calm this morning. They allowed my hubbie to come back with me for the entire 45-1hr procedure. I listened to Prince (his first Prince patient), laughed, smiled and sang a bit to make sure my vocal chords were in tact. I asked him for extra lidocaine in the beginning because I usually need mor... read more

While I believe this provider to be knowledgeable in his field, I had serious issues with his business practices and long wait times. I saw Dr. Forwith for a nodule on my thyroid, and he recommended a Radiofrequency ablation (RFA). I paid $5K upfront for the surgery and later my insurance approved and paid for the procedure. When I tried to recoup my money he said they would only give me back what insurance paid in...which is a practice called balance billing, prohibited if the provider is in-network. I spent a year working ... read more

Dr Forwith is so worth waiting for. My whole experience was nothing but positive. Any waiting is worth waiting to see him. You’ll be so glad you did. He treats his patience like there the only one that matters. You can’t buy that type treatment. To Joyce please hang in there he saved me with finding my thyroid cancer & removed it with a complete thyroidectomy. If surgery is necessary he’s the one you want. I had very little pain. His whole staff treats you with so much kindness, pray on it.

Perhaps he is a great doctor, but I'll never know. Had to wait three weeks to get the 1st appt, four weeks to get the second. The first appt took two full hours and I only spent 7 minutes with the doctor and/or NP. The second appt, I waited a full hour in the crowded lobby. When I asked the receptionist how much longer, she said it would be another hour. Since I had other appts, I had to leave without getting my much-needed biopsy. Clearly, they are double-booking their customers.

Business response:

We are truly sorry for your wait in the waiting area. Unfortunately, sometimes there are delays for things beyond our control like emergencies and extra time for complicated procedures - however, we should have had better communication and accept that. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to get better in this department.

My son has had ear tubes put in, my husband had his tonsils and adenoids, removed and my daughter had both and all by Dr. Forwith. He is amazing! My husband was eating chinese food 2 hours after surgery and played golf the next morning. My daughter ate chicken nuggets for lunch the following day and went shopping. Dr. Forwith really knows what he's doing!

Beware! My grandson is now 14, but when he was 4-5 years old he saw Dr. Forwith for eartubes. After first surgery constantly had infection issues. Dr. recommended another set of tubes, another surgery, and same thing. The Dr then recommended a third surgery and we went to Kosair for second opinion. The Kosair Dr. states the tubes were not inserted properly and why there were drainage issues and infections. The Kosair Dr recommended removal and not to risk further damage to ear.

This was a horrible experience. Dr Forwith comes highly recommended?? I would never send anyone to this place. After waiting an hour and a half he saw me and basically laughed at me. He patted my knee and told me he suspected I was going through menopause. I'm 42. I was tested after seeing him and I am no where near menopause. I am in hypo symptoms with a TSH now of .005. I've gained 30 lbs in 10 weeks. I begged him to help me and he just brushed me off. I left there crying and devastated.

Business response:

TSH .005 is clearly hyperthyroid, not hypo! I'm sorry you felt brushed off. I remember you quite well as I considerable time trying to help. I try to use humor to lighten the mood - I'm sorry you took it the wrong way. I have never met a patient with that low of a TSH that wasn't miserable so I hope you get the help you need for your overactive, not underactive thyroid. I'm sorry that you felt brushed off - you wanted more thyroid medicine from me and that is the last thing you need!

Dr. Forwith is such a caring and considerate provider. While an office wait may be a little long, it is well worth the wait. He is making sure that each patient he sees understands the tests, procedures, and treatment they will be given and that they understand it. Have already recommended him to others that I know, and will continue to do so.
