I am shocked that Dr. Fortney is affiliated with Mercy with such a TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER. It is evident that he does not like Black people and treated me like he really didn't want to serve me and cared less about my health concern. He was cold and distant and a horrible communicator. After my interaction with him, a nurse wanted to follow up to see if my problem was addressed and asked if I wanted him to take a second look, he refused.
This doctor had one of the worst bedside manners I have ever experienced with the Mercy system.
Terrible communicator. No soft skills. Gave me a temporary fix for pain while he spend an hour trying to get my meds. My pain reliever wore off and he didn't care.

Dr. Fortney saw my 67 year old father after falling off of a 10' ladder. He couldn't walk and Dr Fortney ordered x ray and Ct, then after reading the Ct he ordered a MRI to be certain of the hip condition. After follow up we know Dr Fortney was spot on in his diagnosis and prognosis. Smart, common sense ER doc. My dad was lucky to see him that night.
