Arts & Culture Alive & Well In the Fort Outstanding conductor, amazing local talent, and lots of international guest artists. Fort Wayne is so lucky to have this orchestra. Fort Wayne is the arts center of the region. Adds to the culture of our growing city.
orchestra needs a change This is a really fine orchestra, but they badly need a new conductor. I stopped going to the concerts a few years back, becuae it's all Russian music all the time, and everything he plays is fast fast fast and hard as concrete. This guy has come close to ruining a great ensemble. He's been here seemingly forever. I would go to concerts again if there were a fresh face in front of the group. Can't we get a good young American conductor, maybe - someone to connect with our audience?
Wonderful music! The Fort Wayne Philharmonic offers a great selection of performances located in the city's historic Embassy Theatre. What a beautiful theatre! We have enjoyed season tickets to the Philharmonic's jazz season and thoroughly enjoyed it. The music is outstanding. The Holiday Pops concert cannot be missed. It is a great gift idea to buy tickets and enjoy the atmosphere and they have refreshments including wine at intermission.
classical music with heart I have gone to a few of these concerts, and was suprised at the feeling that comes from the music. It is calming, soothing and yet upbeat. They have many differnt themed concert throughout the year and have a lot of very talented musicians. If you are into the classics then you should listen with an open heart.

As a mom with young kids, I don't get the opportunity to hear the Phil much anymore, but I enjoy them at the annual Nutcracker performance with the ballet. They're really excellent, and I say this as someone who has a musical background... read more
