Paul was an incredibly gracious host! The accommodations were perfect for my family. A bit rustic, but the location and service was wonderful. This hotel is located mere blocks from the Staten Island Ferry. The beds were comfortable. The art throughout was all created by the host! Would highly recommend this experience.

We had a great time here! Paul was super friendly and nice. It was perfect for us! The house is on the older side and it comes with expected differences than newer homes but we LOVED every bit of the second floor! If we ever traveled back to the city we'd stay here again. The only down side was we are soft bed people and our bed was very firm but thats personal preference. The walk to and from the Ferry is easy and we never felt uneasy in this area even at 12am. The Deli across the street is very convenient as well!

We stayed at Fort Place B&B from 5 - 12 Oct 2025 while visiting NYC. As a family of four, we had the entire top floor which includes 3 bedrooms (one with kitchenette and another with en-suite bathroom). Kitchenette equipment is basic, but sufficient to make coffee in the morning and store some items in the fridge. The house is wonderful and is strategically located. It wears its years with great charm and Paul's paintings on the walls make it even more precious. Paul is kind and thoughtful.
