We are a frontier village representative of nineteenth century West(ern) Virginia with a campus that includes 16 log houses that are located in Salem, WV USA. Our mission is the preservation and advancement of the educational, historical, cultural and social aspects this region in the Nineteenth Century. Great hidden gem of History. Hunter was a great font of knowledge. He made everything come alive.
Delightful storytelling by live amateur reenactors. Some ghost stories, some history stories of WV and the region all in a preserved frontier fort. Donations help with preservation efforts.
According to maps they were open only to get there and find out they were not. I was doing a historical cross country trip from the west coast to the east but taking back roads.
