A British fortification during the French and Indian War. It is the western most fort in the west Pennsylvania and Ohio Valley west of the Appalachian Mountains. I had a great time learning all about fortification and the battle that took place, including young George Washington's military life.
I took 37 high school students here for a tour. Our guides, Josie and Rickey were excellent. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend for families or group tours. Ample parking.
Went with my daughter over the weekend as a last minute idea. I hadn't been there since I was a teenager and it was her first time, had a great time, talked about history, and even got to see a Fencing expo (very neat!). Will definitely be returning again
