Fort Belmont is an historic view into the late 1800's. The reason my husband and I stopped was to see the old Delafield Church. The church was moved to Fort Belmont just a few years ago with a long history of an active group of church goers from rural Jackson County, MN. A documentary was made a few years ago describing this faith communities journey and their church, Delafield, that kept them all together. So amazing to see it with our own eyes!

We stopped at Fort Belmont, Minnesota, and were absolutely blown away. This is not a roadside attraction—it’s a remarkable historical site and museum that delivers an unforgettable experience. Good place to visit. Very interesting museum. You can learn about the difficult history of native Americans and settlers during the mid 18th hundreds. They have some buildings and tools from that era. House, church, mill, smith shop and reconstruction of the Belmont fort.
