Broke the 5th metacarpal, placed in a brace and sent to OT, saw Dr at approx 8 weeks and was cleared. I complained of continual pain extending into my fingers. I was told therapy would correct it. There was no final x ray to confirm the break had healed or that it had healed correctly. Close to 5 months on and I am now needing surgery to address the non union of my break and I also require tendon release.( with a different surgeon. ) I am all for conservative treatment but as this break has a tendency not to heal, I believe ... read more
