Such a wonderful experience from start to finish with Dr. Thatcher and Triston at the front desk! They were able to get us scheduled quickly which was really important for the stage of life we’re in. I've known Dr. James Thatcher for years, and he is truly one of the most skilled child psychologists I’ve worked with—especially when it comes to children and teens. His ability to connect with young clients is unmatched. He also provides comprehensive autism evaluations and brings deep expertise and care to every case. Families in Portland are lucky to have such a dedicated professional. I highly recommend him!
I cannot recommend Forest Psychological Clinic enough! Specifically Dr. Thatcher. He is kind, gentle and extremely professional! He is great with kids and really helped get the proper diagnosis for my kiddo. He is skilled in therapy and has been a game changer for us!
The good is that he can do all his Autism tests in one day and give you an answer quickly. So if it is a clear case it is a nice way to get it done. The bad is if you mask heavily, can't remember a lot of obvious symptoms as a child, have a special interest that can be dismissed as a common passing interest, have friends, and/or don't know what he needs to know and don't or can't communicate that to him, the result can be inaccurate.
