I loved this forage workshop!! So much information and sensible instruction from Ben! It reignited my interest in mushroom hunting in my area and hiking and cooking and preserving. I would highly recomnend it. Bonnie Olesko, chartered herbalist, chef, and forester.
Yesterday I did a foraging tour with Forest for Dinner and it was wow. I enjoyed it a lot because it was full of information about biology of the mushrooms, cooking tips and options, even interesting stories about foraging and people that have been doing this activity professionally. Great plan in the forest of Qualicum Beach!
I had the great opportunity to take part in one of Forest For Dinner’s Fall Foraging Tours, and it was truly a fantastic experience. During the hike, Ben shared a ton of valuable knowledge about mushroom picking, and we ended the outing with a delicious sampling of wild-harvested foods and locally made products. It was not only educational but also a refreshing way to connect with nature and appreciate the landscape in a whole new light.
The tour was a gift to a family member. It was an excellent tour, informative, friendly and they would highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in learning about the fungi in our local coastal forest.
I was fortunate enough to join Forest For Dinner on one of their Fall Foraging Tours and it was an amazing experience.
