For anyone who has dealt with mental health issues knows how hard it can be! Especially on the family! My husband had a mental breakdown and we had no idea what was wrong with him, he was in westmoreland behavioral health 2 times, they would keep him for 2 weeks , put him on different meds and send him home. He would come home, refusing to take his meds because they made him feel “crazy” he was also admitted in Sommerset for 2 weeks, different meds and sent home. This is by far the best psych ward I have ever stayed in. Great staff to patient ratios and an all around atmosphere of calm and convivial recovery!
Wouldn't come here if you need immediate attention the wait in the er for therapy. 8 hours of waiting to be admitted. The lady helping was unprofessional and then when I decided to leave waited another 2 hours before they finally let me use the phone, get my stuff and discharge papers. If you can wait go. If you need immediate care just be mindful your spending the whole day in a holding room doing nothing but eat, sleep and some TV.
