It was recommended by the clerk at the hotel. Great atmosphere bartender was wonderful. Plenty of locals to talk to. Owner came in. He is very invested in the community.!!
First time visiting Forager's Canteen. They have a very innovative menu, but they seem to make many of their items with a sweet twist to them. The pecan trout had a blueberry compote on it. My Goat Burger came with a smoked tomato jam, which I got on the side, but the burger still had candied bacon on it! The food was excellent, but I prefer my sweets to be in my dessert.
This is a hidden gem nestled in the small town of sylva along the creek. The food was fresh and delicious. We had pecan rainbow trout, golden crove, shrimp tacos and. Chicken tenders for my kiddo. I ran out of superlatives after tasting the food here. My kid never finishes her tenders, but here they were soft and juicy very tasty. We happened to find it accidentally, but enjoyed every bit of it.
Delicious food, wish I'd remembered to take a picture to share. The prosciutto and cheese croquettes were delicious as was the tomato jam. Highly recommend!
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC FOOD. We had the shrimp and fish tacos. Incredible will be back ASAP.
