Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. We have a voucher for here that we have been unable to redeem. The owner Mel ( Merrill William Evans ) is ignoring emails asking for a refund. He promised that dates would be available on the website to book but these never materialised. A check on companies house now reveals that the business is likely being shut down and he is pursuing another venture. An awful shame and very disappointing behaviour from this person.
Edit 04/26 - 6 months on and Forage Kitchen still owe me 80 for a course that they cancelled - they have refused to honour my vouchers or pay me back. Mel's response below is a work of fiction. My messages are being ignored. I strongly recommend that you avoid giving Forage Kitchen your money. I've had an absolutely awful experience at Forage Kitchen, the customer service is horrendous. I booked a 'Wild Harvest' course for 300, in part with a voucher that had been given to me. A few days before the event I hadn't received... read more
Avoid - Owner ignoring us - 150 lost... I purchased a 75 foraging course voucher for my partner for Xmas 2024. In January 2025, she used this voucher, and spent another 75, to book us onto a course in July 2025. Five days before the course we received an email telling us the course was cancelled. In an email several days later, Mel Evans offered us a voucher to use on another course. We accepted this offer in August 2025 and didn't receive the voucher. We chased this up via email in September 2025, after which Mel offer... read more
I've been to forage four times now over the past few years. The first time was an exceptional experience, however it has slowly declined after each visit. Some of the food was literally inedible. Such a shame as the whole aspect of how they create their food is truly fascinating.
Valentines dinner last night was superb. The highlight for me was a cheese course consisting of an incredibly moist carrot cake topped with Baron Bigod cheese and candied walnuts. It was up there as one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten!
