I recently learned that Food for the Poor no longer accepts used items for donation, which was a bit surprising. I understand their mission, but it threw me for a loop 🤯 since I was hoping to donate some gently used clothing and other usable items. It seems they now focus on new donations instead. While I appreciate the work they do 🙌, I’ll need to find another organization that welcomes lightly used items, as I know there are still many people who could benefit from them. Times are tough on all of us but hit my family a little hard in the month of September and we needed to resort to the food bank. I actually didn’t know this company is mainly for over seas and they work on big projects. When I went I was rejected at the door but walking back to my car, the gentleman came out and told me to wait and he would put a box together for me in 15 minutes. I was so grateful for him coming back out and giving us the food he did. It lasted us a week and when fridays checks came we were able to go food ... read more
