Best Afro-Caribbean Food in BK – I recently started dining at this restaurant called Foloukie located on Bedford Ave between Putnam and Madison. I cannot believe the delicious food and the beautiful ambiance; one will almost forget that they are in Brooklyn! Best Trini Food in Town!!!!!!!!! – I visited the restaurant to participate in your poetry night and try a caribbean food for the first time, it was spicy but very delicious. I also tried a very unusual drink- Mauby- bitter and sweet with spicy aroma. Looking at the elegant interior, what a nice surprice- the prices were very affordable and service pleasant and warm. Great Ambiance with the taste of Trinidad and Senegalese with a touch of Soul! – As you enter into Folukie you feel as if your in a mini African Museum lined by chocolate art sculptures done by Ebow Dadzie (United States Pastry Chef of the Year 2007). More great food in Bed Stuy – One of a few places that have recently opened along Bedford Avenue in Bed Stuy, this small West African/Carribean restaurant has GREAT food served in a very comfortable atmosphere. Dinners are $10-$15 and are seemingly made to feed an army. The tamarind sauce that comes on the Kingfish (or any other fish you ask the owner to put it on) would make a shoe apetizing.
