Fogt Water conditoning, Anna Oh We had a softner and iron filtration system installed around 6-7 years ago. Our water was very hard and had high levels of iron. Before we got the systems, we had to use Iron Out when doing white loads of laundry, and to clean our toilets about twice a week. We have had no iron stains since getting the filtration system and our water is always soft. All we have to do is put salt in the softner. The iron filtration system cleans itself.
