As a former employee of this location, I would never recommend a Black or brown person to simply walk-in and receive a haircut from anyone who is available. Yes, their prices are reasonable and cost-effective; however, there are not enough Black barbers to accept walk-ins. Most of the Black employees are established and they have a solid book. I recently visited Floyd’s 99 Barbershop in Alexandria. Virginia. I booked under Curtis N. for a Floyd’s Cut. When I arrived, I noticed that his workstation was completely disorganized and unclean. I told him exactly what I wanted, which was a fade of a 1 guard blended up to a 2 guard. Then, I wanted an inch off of the top of my head and I wanted my bangs to be above my eyebrows. Michelle does an amazing job every time. She’s professional, courteous, and truly skilled with the clippers. I’ve been coming to her for fades and beard trims for a while now, and I’ve always walked away happy with the results. Highly recommend her if you’re looking for someone who really knows their craft.
