I'm a quest chef at the Chicago Flower Show. This week is the highlight of my year as I bring garden lady girlfriends with me for a full week in Chicago and a few days at the flower show. I'm looking forward to when we can get back to Navy Pier and put on this show again.
For a show that bills itself as the Chicago Flower & Garden Show, it seems to lack both, especially the 2019 production. Much of the floor space was dedicated to things like designer created tabletops displays (and while amazing, not exactly fitting the purpose), lawn furniture (closer at least), and empty space (see photo). It has been maybe 4-6 years since I attended the Flower and Garden show. I took my 26 year old daughter, who is a horticulture student, thinking it might be a great day for us. What a disappointment! Besides spending nearly $40 on tickets, the show was sparse and "lifeless". Quite a surprise for a GARDEN show. I wish I could find a way to do a charge back on my credit card --- for not getting the value that I paid for.
