Somewhat of a shakedown Was told the renaissance festival was worth taking my young son to. After paying parking t Quiet Rivers Park and then at the festival itself, thought the concept would be similar to different kinds of festivals up north. You pay your $20, and besides meals and chachkas, the activities are free. This fair was a bit of a shakedown. Every kid activity asked for 2-4 dollars and even the busker like entertainers asked for donations after every performance. For that price per adult, am not interested in bei... read more
expensive fun I did have fun at the renn fest but prices were very high. It was almost $40 for my girlfriend and I to get in, then food was a lot and they raise the costs of drinks because it;s so hot you have no choice but to buy a drink at any cost. They have the soup in a bread baskets that was really good. Overall it was a fun experience, i enjoyed watched the shows that happen throught the day, like the wrench shows. A lot of people call it clevage-fest because all the girls are wearing corsets and well... you know, so ... read more
Are you a wench or a master? the Florida Renassance festival has been a fun event in South Florida for quite some time now..Folks of every size and shape find their way to celebrate those good old medieval days of yore wearing strange costumes and outfits. Jousting, wenchs and even a few nobles will be found along with creative arts and crafts. Food galore is available even if it's not only a taste of the olden days.
A fun event - not sure if it is family appropriate though The Florida Ren Fest is quite an event. Great for people watching although it has become more of a freak-fest than Rennaisance Festival over the years. I noticed this year the people were less Rennaisance attired and more goth/punk with peircings and exposed nipples and tattoos thus making it a bit inappropriate for young children "Look mom - there's a Boob!" The food was crazy-expensive but it was certainly good for a day's entertainment.
The greatest event in South Florida! I've worked/volunteered here for the past 5 years, and it's soo much fun! For 5 weekends, Febuary-March each year, you can visit Ren Fest, a compleatly different world! Go back in time and watch jousting, mud shows, knights in Amour, a royal parade, so much more! The retailors are amazing... you can buy mideval corsets, gowns, feary wings, beautiful jewelry, lots more! the food is absolutly amazing, my favorite is the soup in a bread basket...they also have exotic foods like deep fried or... read more
