Quant inn. Room was nice but needed some work. There were gaps under the windows and down the side of the ac unit where you could see light from outside. The room was musty smelling but that was due to the ac running constantly allowing the moisture to build up. I adjusted the system and the moisture dissipated so what. Filling in those gaps and letting the humidity in will also help. Breakfast was good and the bar next door played good live music. Location was great for see the old town. A typical older southern style home.

What do you expect when renting a room? For it to be safe and clean, right? Not at all what I got. The first picture is of the crack in the top of the door from the outside. Yes the light that you see is from the outside and I can only imagine what it costs them to air condition the place. The second picture is of the bugs in the corner of the room, probably got into the room in the gaping hole in the door shown in picture #1. Beds were very comfortable. It is on the historical registry so I knew the rooms would be rustic but I did expect to have a good shower. The shower in room five is a Clawfoot tub sitting inside of a tiled area with a wall shower head. I would have had to get into the tube and stand to use the shower. I'm an older person and was a little worried about slipping so ended up skipping the daily shower. Also, as an older person I would have appreciated a hand railing to help me up from the toilet. I’ve stayed here a couple times and the main draws are the location (although more about this below) and the building is charming and historical. The inn has a lot of potential. That said, the inn is right next door to the Green Turtle bar next door, which has (very loud) live music on Friday and Saturday (from 5 - midnight). The Green Turtle bar is one of the loudest properties in the Historic section of Fernandina Beach. So, it will be very loud on Friday and Saturday nights.
