As a member of the Kansas Highway Patrol, I began to suffer epileptic seizures caused by a head injury in Dec. 1994. To be a law enforcement officer with this medical condition would not be accepted by any agency. I was told that I would have to turn in my equipment and uniforms because I could no longer retain my position as an LEO. As far as the state was concerned, that was the end of it.
