Incorrectly billed my insurance and only found out 18 months later when my bill was sent to collections. Their customer service line is an international call center that has been hard to reach and unhelpful when I can finally get someone on the phone. The service I received at the hospital was subpar and ended up getting a proper diagnosis for what ended up being a tibia fracture from another physician. Said they took my insurance and sold my “debt” for a covered visit to a collection agency without my knowledge. Found out only after my credit score dropped and I had a report created. Unfortunate that these physicians are purposefully engaging in these malicious practices, stains the medical community which by and large has the patient as the first priority.
I would give zero stars. My experience at the FMC emergency department was less than satisfactory. While the FMC staff were remarkable, the same cannot be said for the ER doctor. I saw him for only 60 seconds before he ended his shift, and he left no instructions for the ER staff regarding my care. I spent over 15 hours in the ER before being admitted to the hospital for observation, which only occurred after I threatened to leave. Like many others, I was told they took my insurance. I have Medicaid and am on disability. I went to the hospital for a multiple sclerosis flare, found out it was also a uti (went to NCHC Williams urgent care the week before and the uti test came back clean...) and just got a 2k bill. The neurologist at the hospital assured me there was no flare damage and it was just a uti. That cost thousands of dollars....
