Fitzroy Pool is Melbourne's iconic 50-metre outdoor heated pool. Our pool is a favourite summer playground for all Melbournians and tourists. We also offer an outdoor toddler pool and a spa, sauna and steam room, gym and group fitness studio. In the 1990s amazing community activism saved the pool from closure. After posting a week ago about my disappointment that every winter, the pool is regularly too cold for comfortable swimming, I was once again reassured that this was a transient technical issue (this time with the thermostat) that technicians would soon resolve. So disappointed, year in, year out come winter with Fitzroy Pool. I've been a member for a couple of decades and swim virtually daily. But in winter, they have always made life extremely difficult by not heating the pool adequately. I don't know why they can't seem to get that right, but every other Melbourne pool I've been to is consistently 26.5C or higher, regardless of season.
