Changes to the fitness studios are ridiculous. Took a perfectly great space, and completely destroyed it. Will be cancelling to move elsewhere.
I had gotten a job down in Sydney for a month and needed to get a gym membership whilst I was there. A friend of mine went to Fitness First so we headed down to see what the details of short term sign up were. The guy behind the counter was friendly and let me know their shortest period was 3 months. Fitness First has completely ruined one of the best features of this gym. The yoga studio, once a spacious, light-filled room with beautiful views, has been replaced with a massive cardio area that feels more like a “sweaty gymbro suburb” than a wellness space. Yoga classes now take place on a black plastic turf floor that is not only unstable and impractical, but also unhygienic. Terrible customer service. I've sent them countless emails asking for a response about my membership increase without prior notice, and they don't respond. But if you pay them late, they send you messages and emails everywhere. TERRIBLE SERVICE
The worst gym I’ve ever been to. I had something taken out of my locker, the girl at the counter was so unhelpful and told me that regulars don’t really bring items and that she can’t look at the video footage and she’ll get back to me but never did. I spoke to another guy behind the counter a few days later following up and didn’t say anything but you leave it unattended you assume responsibility, mean while OVER half of the lockers DONT lock!
