I found this gym on a fluke through my insurance and for the price I thought it would be another 24-hour fitness-level slog (stinky, dark,. overcrowded fitness classes). Nope! The gym is clean and well lit, equipment is new and not crowded. But by far the best part is Vancia, the class taught by its founder Vanessa on Monday and Wednesday. What a great format, and what a fantastic teacher! It's dance that is simple enough for me to follow, plus plyometrics, plus other strength moves here and there. I honestly was very skeptical and anxious about joining this gym knowing the way Oakland is. But to my surprise, it has a very pleasant atmosphere without any loud obnoxious noise and the equipment is well maintained. There seems to be no loud music at all which is great. It also is very clean, which matters a lot when it comes to joining a gym. The parking lot is very safe and clean, which is very pleasing so I don’t have to worry about any theft or break-ins.
