The best route is to take US-26 on the west side of Portland, then connect to OR-6 and OR-47. This is true even if you’re coming from south of Portland on I-5. There is another truck route (OR-240 to OR-47), but I do not recommend it because the roads are narrow, too many hills, and there are curves that weren’t really meant for 53’ trailers. This could save you 20 minutes in a “car,” but it’s probably only 10 min savings on a semi truck and if you’re empty. It’s a better driving via US-26.
