It's tough when a place sells fish that's off already. I brought scallops home to fine they had a sour taste. $45 down the drain. In this economy I find places aren't moving it fast enough to keep it fresh I guess. I'll stick with the shrimp boat docks next time.

I feel this is a total tourist trap! They advertise local shrimp, but when I got there the lady told me that the shrimp came from Texas waters and was frozen on the boat. The shrimp she had in her display had been previously frozen. In fact the only shrimp she did have was frozen. Her freezers looked like farmers market store items, far from a fresh catch. I bought the shrimp in her display anyway and it was the worse tasting shrimp I have ever put in my mouth. I ate two out of the pound I bought and threw the rest away. I d... read more
