Been here a few times now. The staff are always very helpful and kind. Answer any questions I have. Also took in a few fish that outgrew my tank to find better homes! Are able to order equipment that you may need if they don't have it on hand. Great store!
The hermit crab conditions are exceptionally poor. Hermit crabs require at least 3-6 inches of substrate, usually play sand or coconut fiber, and at Fish and Pets they only have a thin layer of gravel for them. Gravel isn't good for a hermit crab tanks because it tends to tear off limbs, and since they only have a thin layer it prevents them from burrowing, which is how they prepare for molting, and reduce stress. More often than not, the crickets in their reptile lunch boxes are dead. I bought a package of 25 medium crickets and found maybe 3 live crickets in the entire package.
