Like many, the goal was to keep mom in her home as she aged. Sounds good, but then reality sets in. She was lonely, felt someone was in her home, she became frightened, would decide to go for a drive, wasn’t taking her medications and there was the possibility of poor nutrition and cleanliness. First Light Home Care in Coeur d'Alene provided in-home care for my mom in the last few weeks of her life which enabled her to remain in her home during her final days and weeks. The 24 hour caregivers were truly wonderful with mom's difficult behaviors due to some dementia issues. They were kind and helpful to her in her fragile state explaining again and again why certain things had to happen.
