We have had a very disappointing experience with FirstBank. Communication has been poor, and compared to other banks we work with, the process has been unnecessarily difficult. In two separate situations involving two different businesses, FirstBank required us to put up additional collateral to keep loans in place, even though we did not feel it was necessary, given our overall collateral position and how other banks have handled similar relationships with us. Southern States Bank was a MUCH better, much more service minded bank before FirstBank bought them. FirstBank could care less about service, they're downright rude when it comes to helping with my banking issues brought about by the death of my wife and they could care less about me, the customer. The teller was anything but helpful and the branch manager is arrogant and disrespectful. I can't think of any reason to have a bank account here and will soon be doing something about it. They take foreign checks !!! They are helpful.
Worse experience I've ever had w/ a bank in my life.. and I'm old so that's a long time. lol. Amy rarely returns calls and is very difficult to communicate with on the rare occasions we connect. I've gone in circles for many months re: a second mortgage issue and she refuses to help resolve this manner. Most unhelpful person and bank I've ever dealt with.
