I have told every doctor I know to avoid this place like the plague. I went with an open mind, looking for help and insights on what I could change or could have done better. Instead, Molly gave me unprofessionalism, a lack of bedside manner, judgment, and inaccurate information. At one point, I asked her, "How did this happen?" I could not be more thankful for Katy at First Steps with Kettering Health. After a surprise breastfeeding complication due to a medication I was taking was discovered, I was heartbroken to not be able to breastfeed. Katy called to check in on me after my delivery and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to answer my questions, seek additional information, and ease my anxieties about the situation at hand. She was a wonderful resource and I felt truly cared about. Thank you Katy for all of your help!

The lactation consultant was extremely helpful in identifying latch concerns because our little one had numerous ties. The First Steps team helped us with lots of pumping supplies too, which was extremely supportive of getting g our little one up to weight. Our toddler loves the handmade quilt given to her by one of their volunteers. It’s 100% worth the visit for you and your little one.
I wish we'd never gone, it was completely counterproductive and shot my confidence. This was the only lactation consultant I've ever met who pushed for bottle-feeding. Our visit was completely detrimental to my breastfeeding journey and every piece of her advice only put us further from our breastfeeding goals. I walked out feeling so guilty for "starving" my baby (he'd lost a normal percentage of his weight in the first few days of life), only to be told by our pediatrician (the next day) that he was perfectly fine.
