Just left there today. Pretty much forced too because I couldn’t make a simple phone call to my mom. Btw my people all live in Michigan 3 hour time difference. these guys that run the house are definitely homeless alcoholics that have there last straw. And that’s just to have a roof over their own head. You all call the program of A.A being selfish there. The house is disgustingly awful. They bring people in without knowing medical history. Changed our families life for the better. Literally life saving when nothing else works. We finally have peace in our family. Father sober 18 mos and Husband sober 3 years. It's the only place that worked for both of them at different times after many years of trying other programs. We are so grateful to the 1st Step House and all of the volunteers. Its a 10 day detox from alcohol only run on donations and volunteers to start you off on the right foot.

Very good house to start a foundation for sobriety. Joe "Cooky" H. is a damn fine cook. You'll fatten up with the food as well as meetings and the Big Book. If you're struggling with alcohol, go get your 10 day stay!
