I went to First Light my sophomore year of summer from June-September. It was a very difficult time adjusting to the environment and my place there. Most of the staff were super sweet and comforting. I reconnected with myself and discovered parts of me I never knew which helped me in tremendous ways. It was a hard journey for me, however, I grew within myself coming out of here.
First Light did everything i had hoped for and more. My son made so much progress there and really enjoyed the experience. When u asked what he would miss when he left, without hesitation he said “the people”.
This program really helped my family and I. We were in a desperate situation and feeling like our son was not going to make it. First Light saved my son and our family. Their staff is top-notch the therapy and the experience he received was invaluable and beyond helpful. We saw a big change in our son after this program.
This is a great program and a real game changer for my 16 y.o daughter. First Light posesses a very knowledgable and dedicated staff. I highly reccomend it.
The wilderness therapy program run by First Light greatly exceeded our expectations from first contact through graduation. My grandson, who we're raising, made excellent progress on his mental health journey. His primary therapist was superb as were the field staff and family therapist. He sure didn't like it at first but eventually said he might even like to stay longer because he felt save and well supported. And along with the hard work, the kids were having a lot of fun.
