First Hawaiian Bank is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. In particular, the staff at the Kapiolani branch are completely untrustworthy. About $850 was withdrawn from my account without my knowledge or authorization. I went to the bank to inquire about it, and a male teller told me that the money would be returned to my account within a few days. Save yourself, go elsewhere. I only use this account to transfer money to my landlord. Or else I would never have an account here. I never use my debit card, the only time it leaves my wallet is at the ATM out front to deposit cash. Somehow my card was compromised without even leaving my wallet and money was being spent. I reported it as soon as I found out at the branch and they told me to call to report it. Not a review about location but for the bank. I am a military member and didn't use an account for a while and got changed for dormant fees for months without getting reached out. I couldn't reactivate or close it on the phone and had to go into a branch. And they wouldn't wavie fees unless i went to different branch...
This is the worst banking experience I have ever had. FHB has completely failed to meet its obligations when it comes to releasing funds via the Zelle app in a timely manner, causing personal financial injury. On top of that, I had to wait on hold for 4 hours while abroad, being charged by the minute, only to finally reach someone who was completely unhelpful.
