My wife and I recently purchased a newly constructed home in Wilmington, NC and used First Citizens Bank for our mortgage loan. Bar none, it was the WORST experience we've ever had in over 35 years of doing real estate. The mortgage officer we dealt with was arrogant and rude and ultimately reneged on the amount he promised us in closing cost assistance.
