We were required to use the Ocean St. branch in Santa Cruz for a simple residential home purchase. To their credit, they promptly re-issued a preliminary title report after we caught an error on the initial draft. Unfortunately, that was the extent of acceptable service. Brandy and the team were pleasant enough to your face, but lacked professionalism/knowledge behind the scenes and made multiple mistakes with my transaction. First, I was supposed to hold the rent back deposit per the contract, they wrote the paperwork up where they hold the money and told me “having us fix this will delay closing and you will need to re-sign documents with another notary.”Second, our mortgage company gave clear payment instructions for our cash back at closing.
