We expected to pay a 15% withholding tax to the IRS and wait up to 18 months to get it back. Our title company recommended Patti Vanerstrom of FIRPTA Solutions to prepare the documentation including a Withholding Tax Certificate allowing us to get our held funds from the IRS in about 90 days. Highly recommend this company. Very professional and knowledgeable about the process.
