Giving good mechanics a bad name – Took my vehicle in to get an estimate for rear brake pad and rotor replacement. Firestone was one of five quotes received and double the price of the next highest quote. The fact that they were double the price was a bit ridiculous but that's why you have a few others quote. another dishonest mechanics – I paid $350 for supposedly tie rod replacement and wheel alignment...I was there for 3 hours and they said they ordered the parts and it would take a while to find one....with all those LIES, guess what my independent mechanic showed me that the tie rod was never replaced it is still old and rusty they just tightened it. my wheel was not also aligned and it was toe in. honest mechanics – when i first moved to chicago i had some car trouble. my dealer said i needed a new alternator and would have to pay close to a grand to get one. a friend of mine suggested i call these guys, who offered a much lower estimate. when i took the car in to them they tested the alternator and found there was nothing wrong with it. so not only did they not try to sell me an alternator i didn't need, they didn't even charge me for the testing. i love these guys and will always go back, even though they're not ver... read more
Good mechanic, but pricey – Had to have a lot of work done on my car this spring, and I found these guys to be honest, quick, and friendly, albeit a bit expensive.
